Over-sized lanterns and a full restoration of the original stucco and paint job renews this beauty.
1932 SPANISH COLONIAL APARTMENT BUILDING IN ECHO PARK
12 Units
A 1932 twelve unit apartment building that had been neglected and stripped of original details. Most of the original kitchens were removed and replaced with generic big-box fixtures and cheap cabinetry. An on-going restoration has allowed the exterior and seven of the interior of the units to be fully restored. Fortunately, two original tile kitchens and many original light fixtures and fireplaces still exist. I was able to re-create the original kitchens in each restored unit by modeling after the existing kitchens. Additionally, all remaining light fixtures, tile, wood floors, hand troweled plaster, hardware and mouldings were restored to their Spanish style roots. All systems are upgraded to modern codes, without sacrificing the period style and character.
